In the Reception class we follow the Early Learning Goals for the Foundation Stage and in Key Stages 1 and 2 we follow the National Curriculum.

All of of our pupils are taught the following subjects: Literacy, Numeracy, Religious Education, Science, Information and Communications Technology, History, Geography, Art and Design, Design Technology, Music, Physical Education, French and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education.

Our teaching staff will often take their experience in particular subjects to other classes in order to ensure our pupils get the best possible learning experience. In some subjects we offer extraordinary experiences.

In music we are developing the wider opportunities scheme. The aim of this is to allow every pupil in the school to learn at least one instrument. We have taken it further. In Key Stage 1 all pupils learn the descant recorder as part of their music teaching. In year 3 we teach whole class violins, year 4 learn the clarinet, year 5 learn the occarina and year 6 learn the treble recorder. We feel the range of instruments the children learn is an invaluable experience. Children are also able to participate in a wide range of music clubs and we offer individual instrumental tuition with peripatetic music staff.

In P.E. we are fortunate to welcome a diverse selection of coaches and teachers to our school to offer opportunities to the children. Throughout the school year we welcome cricket, rugby, volleyball, football and swimming coaches and instructors to our team to provide pupils with the best possible experience. We also run a wide range of clubs in these sports allowing children to develop their skills even further.
